At NowWhat, your family’s privacy is our top priority. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Data We Collect
Account information: Name, email address, and phone number when you create an account.
Family data: Information you choose to enter including contacts, events, documents, memories, and health notes. You control what you share.
Usage data: Basic analytics about how you use the app to improve the experience. We do not track browsing activity outside of NowWhat.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide and improve the NowWhat service. Specifically:
- To operate your family space and deliver features you use
- To send notifications and reminders you have opted into
- To improve the product based on usage patterns
3. What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal data
- We never share your data with advertisers
- We never use your memories, documents, or family information for any purpose other than providing the service to you
- We never read your private content
4. Data Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We use Supabase for data storage with row-level security, meaning users can only access data belonging to their own family. We follow industry-standard security practices.
5. Data Sharing
We only share data when: you explicitly choose to share it (meal coordination links, help boards), we are required by law, or with service providers who help us operate (hosting, email delivery) under strict data protection agreements.
6. Your Rights
You can export all your data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data. You control who in your family can see what.
7. Children’s Privacy
NowWhat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification before they take effect.
